DEVLOG 4: Trimming the Fat from the Kernel

·

Since the last devlog, there’s been significant progress—not just in the structure of my philosophical system, but also in how I’ve begun applying it to my own life.

It started with a core question: What does it mean to live a meaningful life? I found myself challenging the traditional pursuit of “success” and realized that meaning doesn’t come from chasing external validation—it comes from being present and mastering attention, moment to moment, day to day.

This led me to the idea of Practice—not as a rigid discipline, but as a fluid, intentional engagement with each moment. A blog post exploring this in depth is on the way, but the short version is: shifting from a fixed routine to a flexible, attention-based system of living has already yielded powerful results. Today, for example, I managed six solid hours of deep work—focused, satisfying, and productive. That time led to several major breakthroughs in the project.

Completed Tasks & Lessons Learned

  • Wrote a simple introduction to my philosophy.
  • Defined the Axioms of my philosophical system.
  • Clarified the Core Kernel: In keeping with the principle of epistemic humility, the core can’t include personal beliefs like nihilism or specific lifestyle philosophies. It must stay minimal, ideology-neutral, and collaborative.
    • The Kernel will now contain only:
      • Logic system
      • Epistemology
      • Axioms
      • Glossary of terms (to evolve over time)
      • Principles of rational philosophy
      • Guidelines for collaborative, iterative philosophical development
    • It will not contain life-oriented PAPs (Philosophical Application Principles)—those will live in Hritos.
  • Developed a powerful UX idea: create a “shallow path” through the philosophy. This will be a clear, guided intro for new readers with optional branching paths to explore deeper topics at their own pace.

Next Steps

  • Finalize the Kernel: Rename the ItRaN page to reflect the new direction—likely “The RatPhi Kernel.”
    • Only the glossary will remain a work-in-progress, built out gradually as terms get clarified in Hritos.
  • Revamp the Website Flow:
    • The Home Page becomes a landing page—a simple, clear invitation to the philosophy.
    • The Start Here Page becomes the guided experience—the “shallow path” through the system, with deeper dives available throughout.
  • Begin Building the Hritos Page: This is where the actual philosophical system—life PAPs, metaphorical physics, necessary vs. unnecessary suffering, etc.—will evolve.

More blog posts, glossary entries, and deeper explanations coming soon. But the foundation is solid. The RatPhi Kernel is lean, consistent, and ready to grow.
